FIRST EDITION of this decisive work of "Mummy Pettigrew" (1791-1865), surgeon and antiquarian. Illustrated with 13 plates by the British caricaturist and illustrator George Cruikshank (1762-1878), praised as the "modern Hogarth", four of them partly or entirely hand-coloured.
