In-8° : [8]-323-[17] pp. (dampstains mostly marginal, some pp. very slightly browned, small tear, handwritten note and stamp on title-page, wormholes on the 2 last lvs, rare stains).
Contemporary binding : vellum, flat spine with black leather label (rubbed, ties lacking, light dampstain on lower board, small stains, flyleaves lacking).
FIRST EDITION of this work on the Hebrews by the Italian historian Sigonio (1520-1584) dealing with their political and legal organisations, religion, calendar, rites and ceremonies, etc. Neat typography with the allegory of Bologna on the title-page, ornemental head- and tail-pieces, initial letters (one historiated at the dedication).
