Description
folio, cont. blindruled vellum (sl. soiled, some spots), blue edges, [12-2 bl.] pp., 31 engravings (some clear unobtrusive dampstaining, some tears, corners and margins repaired). In all a very good copy. First edition of a mill-book composed by the Swedish millwright Pehr Linpergh who came to the Netherlands to study Dutch windmills. Engr. ills: nice architectural title, 2 ills in text and 32 numb. ills on 31 plates (some double-page) showing various types of mills. Occ. ms notes, as "de Oostindische zaagmolen staande tot Amsterdam", "de dubbele oliemolen", etc. Ownership entry on upper cover "Willem Klaasz, Raad, Anno 1813".
