RARE ORIGINAL EDITION Work of primary importance for the study of the life and works of Galileo, based largely on letters and unpublished documents, collected by Venturi in chronological order, with accompanying biography of Galileo.
The first volume covers the years 1587 to 1616, the second from 1616 until 1642. In the first volume, is significant also for the inclusion of the youth treaty of Military Architecture and the Treaty on the secondary light of the moon, different from the text published in Padua; curious appendix to the second volume Chapter on Toga, written when Galileo still dabbled in poetry. Interestingly, the writing facsimile of Galileo in two different periods of his life.
