ORIGINAL POSTHUMOUS EDITION. Armorial binding of Richelieu. The famous Cardinal began the preparation of this work, which aims to guide the faithful towards the "perfection of the Christian", in 1636, but the manuscript was discovered only after his death in 1642. The final text, arranged by employees of Richelieu, the bishop of Chartres Jacques Lescot and Desmarets de Saint-Sorlin, was published in a small number of examples from the author's niece, the Duchess d'Aiguillon.
For the armorial binding of Cardinal Richelieu, see Olivier 406, fer. # 2.
