The binding is made of paper decorated with woodcut: the design is strewn with green leaves surrounded by burgundy decorations with small stars to six maroon color peaks in the middle of the white gaps.
The impression is obtained with a wood matrix and the so-printed design was completed by additional hand chromatic interventions with the technique "strafforo" through masks. Beautiful illustrated Venetian edition of this work of the great French historian and writer, who had huge success and that is the history of Rome from its foundation until the victory of Octavian over Antony and the consequent end of the Republic. the 21 copper plates out of text are depict maps, floor plans and monuments of ancient Rome Piccarda Quilici, Carte decorate nella legatoria del 700, Roma 1988; Mario Infelise, I REMONDINI di Bassano, Bassano 1980.
