Important work of ancient Rome: in addition to the treatise of 'German classical scholar, are added studies by Paolo Manuzio and Andreas Schott. Beautiful plates, engraved by Pieter Philippe, depict different scenes of life and the Roman costume, fighting, a funeral and a banquet; in large table folded, designed by Jacob Toornvliet, it is engraved a panoramic view of Rome at the time of Septimius Severus.
