The Milanese doctor Giovanni Battista Selvatico, son of John Peter, was a professor at the University of Pavia and a member of the College of Physicians in Milan: highly respected for his classic and humanistic scholarship and his deep knowledge of the texts of Galen, he studied relations between the Greek and Arab medical science.
