Most important dogmatic textbook of its era prevailed from the 13th till the 16th Century, commented by Jean Aleaume, Parisian professor in theology. Used by many theologians like Thomas of Aquin as a fundament to elaborate their own ideas. It made the bishop of Paris Peter Lombardus (1100-1160) so famous that he was given the surname "Magister Sententarium" and still today often considered as one of the precursors of the Thomists.
The first edition was published in 1537 (?).
