Second edition (1st ed. : 1775) of this work by the architectural draughtsman Th. Malton the elder (1726-1801) who exhibited to the Incorporated Society of Artists in 1766 and 1768. Complete of the frontispiece and the 48 plates, mostly folding. This treatise is the earliest known commercially produced pop-up book because of some plates showing 3-dimensional paper mechanisms to aid in understanding perspective. At the end "A true case, between the author, of a late publication, his printers and paper merchants" relating the fire happened at Cox and Bigg's printers in 1776 which destroyed a copy of Malton's publication and the resulting problems he encountered.
