I understand that it is, in all loyalty of judgement and for very personal (that is to say indisputable) reasons, clearly unfavourable to its eventual realization... My agreement with Mac Orlan, as well as my own desire, obliges Cinématographic [the independent production company founded by Marcel L'Herbier] to begin the production of "Malice" as soon as possible and before anything else. That doesn't prevent us from examining the subsequent screenplay of your "Prodigal Father".
But won't that be too far away for you?
