travaille sur une pièce de théâtre [The Scorn of Women (Le Mépris des femmes)], mais s'attend à sortir («knock out») quelques nouvelles quand il l'aura terminée. Il n'a fait que 2 nouvelles depuis son retour du Japon; Johnston en a vu une, l'autre n'était qu'une esquisse sans mérite. Signed autograph letter addressed to Mr . JOHNSTON Oakland (California), November 2, 1904, 1 page oblong in-8 in brown ink on paper with its ink stamp (slit in the central fold and repaired); in English. He is currently working on a play [The Scorn of Women], but expects to knock out some news when he has finished it. He's only done 2 short stories since his return from Japan; Johnston has seen one, the other was just a sketch without merit.
