V. 1945'). édition originale de ce roman à succès lors de sa parution, qui fit l'objet de trois adaptations cinématographiques de 1926 à 1956. Un des 400 exemplaires de tête sur Hollande (n° 5). Dark brown full calf with cold-stamped decoration, covers decorated with a decorative frieze, partly painted on the top cover (in red, blue, green and gold) with a partly painted heraldic coat of arms in the centre, smooth spine titled in gold, blue tissue paper endpapers, preserved cover and spine, matching square spine folder and slipcase (monogrammed and dated on the top cover 'M. V. 1945'). Original edition of this successful novel at the time of its publication, which was the subject of three film adaptations from 1926 to 1956. One of the 400 top copies on Holland (no. 5). Nice copy bound in a neo-gothic 19th century taste.
