Topaze, premier succès théâtral de Marcel Pagnol, est une comédie en quatre actes retraçant la carrière d'un modeste professeur des écoles, chassé en raison de son honnêteté, qui se retrouva à servir d'homme de paille à un conseiller municipal corrompu, s'enrichissant sur les marchés publics. La comédie fut représentée pour la première fois à Paris au Théâtre des Variétés en 1928. (Légers manques à la queue et à la coiffe, cahier déréglé, dos et couverture abîmés). Topaz. Specially printed on pure Lafuma yarn dyed vellum for Sacha Guitry. Topaze, Marcel Pagnol's first theatrical success, is a comedy in four acts retracing the career of a modest school teacher, driven out because of his honesty, who found himself serving as a straw man for a corrupt city councillor, getting rich on public markets. The comedy was performed for the first time in Paris at the Théâtre des Variétés in 1928 (slightly missing tail and headdress, notebook out of order, spine and cover damaged).
