John Pine, Battaglia navale tra la flotta inglese e l'armada spagnola. 1739.

Acquaforte e bulino. mm 375x606. Foglio: mm 422x618. Tavola firmata in basso a destra sotto la cornice e con il numero "VI" all'angolo superiore destro. Sesta tavola da The tapestry hangings of the House of Lords: representing the several engagements between the English and Spanish fleets, in the ever memorable year MDLXXXVIII, with the portraits of the Lord High-Admiral, and the other noble commanders, taken from the life...serie di dodici incisioni raffiguranti gli scontri nell'anno 1588 tra la flotta inglese e l'invincibile armada spagnola. La scena, impressa in verde scuro, è racchiusa in cornice incisa su lastra separata con all'intorno i ritratti in ovale dei capitani coinvolti, si riconoscono Drake, Raleigh, Grenville e Frobisher. Le incisioni sono riprese da una serie di arazzi che un tempo adornavano la Camera dei Lord e andati distrutti nell'incendio del 1834, sono pertanto le uniche testimonianze di quella decorazione. I disegni vennero forniti da Clement Lempriére (Isola di Jersey, 1682 - Londra, 1746) ingegnere militare e cartografo.
