Part 6 (of 28) of the famous collection of travel and exploration narratives published by the Leiden bookseller Van der Aa. The present one contains a general introd., 3 narratives taken from the “Historia general” of Antonio de Herrera y Tordesillas (1549-1625) and 2 from the writings of João de Barros (1496-1570). The longest one deals with Columbus’ voyage of 1510 and Cuba. Engr. mark on titles. 1 folding map of Central & South America + 13 (of 14) double-page engravings (lacking pl. K3 in Pt 3 p. 50).
