Great seal of Queen Victoria (diam. 17 cm), depicting her enthroned on one side and mounted on horseback on the other, white wax, captured in around metal box, blue patent stamp (royal arms of 2nd document cut, seal broken). Letters patent N° 2730 granted by the "Office of Commissioners of Patents for Inventions" to Pierre Adolphe Melchior Maury, merchant from Paris, for his "improvements in cutting the pile of velvets and other pile fabrics". Important document from the Age of the Industrial Revolution. ^ Brevet d'invention à P.A.M.
