First edition of this work on the Hebrews by the Italian historian Sigonio (1 520-1 584) dealing with their political and legal organisations, religion, calendar, rites and ceremonies, etc. Neat typography with the allegory of Bologna on the title-page, ornemental head- and tail-pieces, initial letters (except one historiated at the dedication). # Adams S-1108; # STC Italy 627; # USTC 856351 ; # not in Machiels nor in Soltész. ▲ Provenance : C.
