First edition of the translation from the Greek by the scholar Sigmund Gelen (Prague 1497-1554) of this collection of biblical commentaries by Philo of Alexandria (c. 25 BC-c. 45), a Hellenistic Jewish philosopher. Contains essays on the life of Moses, Abraham's journeys, Cherubs, etc. Nice typography with historiated initials after Hans Holbein as used in the Plinius editions published by Episcopius.
