Contemporary binding : calf, gilt decorated ribbed spine with red label, red sprinkled edges (worn, turn-ins lacking, upper joint split, various provenances on flyleaves). First edition of the Gospels of St. Matthew and St. Mark in 12 languages, extracted from the so called "Nuremberg Polyglot New Testament" composed by Elias Hutter (1553-c.1605), a German Hebraist.
