4 handcol. woodcut ills, end 15th-early 16th c.  Various formats, c. 10/10,5 x 8/13 cm, nice cont. colouring (sm. marg. def. caused by former mounting, some dampstaining, tear rep. with sellotape on verso). Good condition.

Description
From Dutch incunables or postincunables. 1. Fall: Adam, Eve & Serpent,  Adam & Eve trying to hide,  Expulsion from Paradise. 2. Nativity. 1st used by Gerard Leeu in Gouda (1-2, 4) or Antwerp (3): “Devote getijden van het leven Ons Heren” (Gouda 1482-1483: 1-2, 4) and Ludolphus de Saxonia, Vita Christi [Dutch] (Antwerp 1487: 3). Nr. 1 with border not found in 1st ed. The woodcuts were used or copied in later editions of these and similar work.
