Description
1. 27/04/1928, Rouen - Seine-Inférieure. Postcard (some ink/waterstains) with several handwritings all saying "nous vous regrettons". 2. 26/07/1929, St Jean de Luz. Postcard with handwriting of Ravel only. He hopes to see her soon. 3. 6 envelopes with stamps, Paris, June till October 1916. Ravels first contact with the Dreyfus family was through Roland-Maurice (stepson of Mme Dreyfus) who became Ravels pupil and close friend. During wartime Mme Fernand Dreyfus was Ravels virtually adoptive mother ("Marraine de guerre"). Ravel wrote personel letters to her about his wartime experiences at the front between March and October 1916. After his demobilisation Ravel recovered at the Dreyfus family house.
