Description
Pierre Toussaint Marcel de Serres de Mesplès (1780-1862), French caver and geologist at Montpellier was a specialist of human and animal fossils of the caves of the south of France. The present collection consists of drafts (on waste paper such as letters, bills etc.) of : 1. “Essai sur les cavernes à ossemens”, 34 ff., publ. in the “Natuurkundige verhandelingen van de Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen te Haarlem”, vol. 22 (1825). - 2. “Des changements qui se sont opérés dans la distribution primitive des êtres vivants à la surface du Globe” (1853), 17 ff. - 3.
