Description
Extr. rare (2nd recorded copy?) Latin poem on the rigid monastic reforms in the Cistercian “Abbaye Notre-Dame-des Feuillants” (Labastide-Clermonte, Haute-Garonne). In 1587 Henri III founded the Paris “Monastère royale de Saint-Bernard”, known as “Couvent des Feuillants”. In 1589 it joined the Feuillants as an independent order headed by Notre-Dame-des Feuillants. The present poem, composed by a monk from the Paris Convent, is dedicated to abbot Jean IX de La Barrière. Title with type ornament.
