(lacking title and ff. 82, 87; somewhat short, paper age-toned, title underlaid, some margins strengthened or dampstained, sm. wormtrack in blank bottom margin of 1st ff., stain in fore-edge margin of 2nd half, old tears repaired, 3 bottom corners torn off with loss of a few words. In all a good copy.
1st combined ed. of the 3 parts of this monumental work on Christian (esp. Protestant) martyrs by A. van Haemstede (1525-1562), rev. by Andreas Oosterbeeck (fl. 1584-1616).  Ill. with c. 135 woodcuts (several repeats). Gothic type in 2 cols. Ref. BB. III:386-387 H-184.
