Miniature - The Flight into Egypt.

Description
Miniature, c. 16 x 10 cm, on vellum c. 21,8 x 15 cm. In good condition. Probably a 19th-c. (Italian?) forgery, painted on the blank verso of a notarial document by “Franciscus Nouellus notarius Episcopatus Tarvisij” (Treviso, early 16th-c.). In top left corner of the miniature a square initial "O" showing a man (monk?) kneeling and praying (to a statue of the Virgin?). Border decoration with flower shoots and many small birds.
