Description
Handwritten on vellum in Dutch, 55 x 74 cm, rolled, gilt and blue ribbon with pending seal. In original pewter box. Confirmation of nobility granted to Jean Baptiste Joseph van den Wiele, of Mechelen (?). Signed by William I (1772-1843), Prince of Orange, first King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Countersigned by i.a. C. Chais, "secretaris van den Hoogen Raad van Adel". Nice handcoloured and heightened coat-of-arms of the grantee. Large red wax seal with the King on horseback (obverse) and his coat-of-arms (reverse).
