3 parts in 1 vol. small in-8° : [4]-vi-[2 bl.]-219, 247-[1], 201 pp. (some pp. slightly browned, dampstains in the 1st and 3rd part mostly marginal, rare marginal tears and small stains).
Contemporary binding : half black leater, bordeaux marbled paper boards, gilt decorated flat spine (boards rubbed, small wears, corners strongly dulled).
UNIQUE EDITION of this utopian voyage in Australia, written by the Portuguese Aguiar (+ 1855), recounting the adventurers of an English servant who had accompanied his master to New South Wales.
The author chose Australia as the scene for his moralising tale in the hope that this new nation will be free forever from the vices of the Old World.
