Dimensions: 535 x 767 mm et 427 x 767 mm; sceau en cire: 162 mm de diamètre et 19 mm d'épaisseur. Lettres patentes (n° 85) données en 1865 par la reine Victoria, à William Edward Gedge, inventeur dont l'entreprise ‘John Gedge and Son' était installée dans le Middlesex (actuel comté de Londres), pour l'invention d'un «improved breaking apparatus for cutting iron gas or others pipes» [...] communicated to him from abroad by Jules Chartriez from Paris [...]». Deux parchemins liés par un grand sceau de cire jaune orné sur ses deux faces: l'une représentant la reine Victoria trônant entourée de deux allégories, et l'autre la représentant paradant à cheval avec le sceptre.LETTERS PATENT Two Letters Patent in favour of William Edward GEDGE. England, January 11, 1865 In English, 2 sheets on parchment printed with the arms of the Kingdom of England with annotations in brown ink. Dimensions: 535 x 767 mm and 427 x 767 mm; wax seal: 162 mm in diameter and 19 mm thick. Letters Patent (No. 85) granted in 1865 by Queen Victoria to William Edward Gedge, inventor whose firm 'John Gedge and Son' was located in Middlesex (now County London), for the invention of an "improved breaking apparatus for cutting iron gas or other pipes" [...] communicated to him from abroad by Jules Chartriez from Paris [...]". Two scrolls bound by a large yellow wax seal decorated on both sides: one depicts Queen Victoria enthroned surrounded by two allegories, and the other depicts her parading on horseback with the sceptre.
