Concerning his Op. 106 and 107. Brahms (1833-1897) writes he will leave for Vienna where he will correct his proofs. Composed in the summer of 1886 and published in 1889, the Songs, Op. 106, were written while Brahms was at Lake Thun, near Bern, Switzerland. It's also there where he composed the second song of Op. 107. F. Simrock (1837-1901) was a German music publisher, most noted for publishing most of the music of Brahms and Dvorak. Simrock published almost all of Brahms's pieces from Opus 16 to Opus 120 and was very good friends with Brahms.
