Con 8 cromolitografie, di cui 1 in antiporta e una carta geografica più volte ripiegata con i contorni in coloritura coeva ; molte illustrazioni nel testo.
Un piccolo strappetto marginale riparato a due carte iniziali, un lavoro di tarlo nel margine interno delle pagine 195-210 lontano dal testo, qualche fioritura, la mappa con i bordi un po' rovinati ma nel complesso discreta copia.

Legatura moderna in mezza pelle rossa con piatti in percallina e titoli impressi in oro al dorso

▬ BIBLIOGRAPHIE :
• Prima edizione, ben completa delle 8 cromolitografie con ritratti di personaggi delle varie tribù di nativi americani e una grande carta geografica dal titolo Map to illustrate Mr. Kane's travels in the territory of the Hudsons's Bay Company.
Dopo un soggiorno di studio di 4 anni in Europa, l'Autore ritornò in Canada con l'obiettivo di catturare scene di vita dei nativi americani :
«To accomplish this, he traversed, almost alone, the territories of the Red River Settlement ; the valley of the Saskatchewan ; across the Rocky Mountains ; down the Columbia River, the shores of Puget Sound ; and Vancouver's Island.
The book is a transcript of his daily journal, thrown into the narrative form ; and the beautiful engravings are copies of the labor of his pencil» (Field 811) ; Abbey, Travel 663 ; Sabin 37007.
